Program Description:You’re a new supervisor. Or you’re about to become one. Or you want to be one and you want to be prepared when the opportunity comes. This program provides new supervisors with an understanding of the skills necessary to communicate with others, plan and delegate, motivate and coach staff members.
Program Objectives:
- Identify what makes an effective supervisor.
- Develop the skills necessary to promote the continued positive contributions of others.
- Enhance communication skills; face to face, telephone and e-mail.
- Effectively use coaching and counseling to impact performance issues.
- Recognize when, where and how to increase performance through motivation.
- Identify the benefits of delegation.
Training Methodology: Lecture, small and large group discussions, interactive exercises, case studies, role plays, participant workbook, PowerPoint slides.
Time Frame: Full day
